The owners of this North Tustin house wanted to make their home more open and friendly to family life, and an open floor plan proved the perfect solution.

Open-concept living has grown in popularity over the years. It not only makes the smallest space feel bigger and brighter but also creates a seamless flow between the living, dining and kitchen areas. With this in mind, our team began by knocking down and opening up the wall between the kitchen and dining room.

The removal of an internal wall was a breath of fresh air as it dramatically opened up the space.

Things like removing unnecessary overhead cabinets and moving the sink can make a big difference.

To streamline the kitchen design, we also added features like a pop-up worktop electrical socket.

The family room also received a makeover with custom cabinets and new white oak flooring, becoming more refined to serve as family and guest spaces.

Located off the kitchen are the powder and laundry rooms. Both rooms were updated with new painting, flooring, countertop, and fixtures.

With the collaboration of a team of designers, engineers and trade partners, this “old” North Tustin house has been revived into a stylish, warm space the owners call home.
